Terms of Service
Last updated: May 15, 2026
These Terms govern the legal relationship between you and the Studio. The Studio is established in Poland and these Terms are governed by Polish law (see §12). An English translation is provided for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the Polish version prevails.
1. General Provisions
These terms (“Terms”) set out the rules for:
- using the voivodes.com website,
- signing up for the newsletter,
- the license for the Voivodes game purchased through Steam (Valve).
The service provider and copyright owner of the Game is CyfroweNiebo.pl, VAT ID 6262150436, registered office: ul. Wrocławska 94, 41-902 Bytom, Poland, contact: privacy@cyfroweniebo.pl (hereinafter: “Studio”).
Use of the Site and the Game constitutes acceptance of these Terms to the extent applicable to you.
2. Definitions
- Studio — CyfroweNiebo.pl,
- Site — voivodes.com and its sub-pages,
- Game — the Voivodes digital product including all updates,
- User / Player — anyone using the Site or the Game,
- Platform — Steam (Valve Corporation) — the store distributing the Game,
- Consumer — a natural person purchasing the Game for purposes unrelated to business activity.
3. The Website
The Site is informational and marketing in nature. Use of the Site is free and does not require registration. The scope of electronic services provided through the Site:
- publishing information about the Game, its roadmap, and behind-the-scenes notes,
- the option to sign up for the newsletter (under the rules in §4),
- email contact with the Studio.
Technical requirements: a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge in a version released within the last 24 months) with JavaScript support.
4. Newsletter
Newsletter sign-up is voluntary and free of charge. It happens by sending a message to newsletter@voivodes.com (clicking the “Sign me up” button on the Site opens your mail client with a prefilled subject).
By sending the message, the User consents to receiving information about the Game (releases, updates, behind-the-scenes notes) electronically. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by replying with “unsubscribe” to any newsletter email or by writing to privacy@cyfroweniebo.pl.
Details of newsletter data processing are described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Game License
5.1. Scope of license
Upon purchase of the Game through Steam, the Studio grants the User a non-exclusive, non-transferable, territorially unlimited license for personal, non-commercial use of the Game — within the scope set by the Platform and these Terms.
Purchase, installation, access, refund, and first-line technical support are governed by the agreement between the User and the Platform (Steam Subscriber Agreement). These Terms supplement those agreements with respect to the copyright license and do not replace the Platform's purchase terms.
The Game is distributed for computers running Windows, macOS, and Linux. The Studio does not provide console or mobile versions.
5.2. What you may do
- Play the Game on your own device, for your own personal use,
- Create and publish screenshots, recordings, streams, reviews — both non-commercial and commercial (YouTube/Twitch/TikTok monetization allowed, no permission required),
- Make fan-fiction, fan-art, cosplay based on the Game's world and characters — provided that the work is clearly marked as fan-made (not official) and that you do not derive monetary benefit while infringing the Studio's rights (e.g. selling copies of game art).
5.3. What is not allowed
- Reverse engineering, decompilation, disassembly of the Game's code — except where allowed by mandatory provisions of law (e.g. Art. 75(2)–(3) of the Polish Copyright Act),
- Redistributing the Game or its parts — selling, sharing pirated copies, hosting full Game assets,
- Modifying the Game in a way that breaks its integrity, security, or its operation for other Users,
- Using Game assets (graphics, audio, dialogue, music, code) in other commercial projects without the Studio's written consent,
- Using the Game for unlawful purposes or in a way that infringes third-party rights,
- Using the Studio's marks or logo in a way that suggests official affiliation without consent.
5.4. Updates
The Studio may issue Game updates through Steam. Updates may change Game content, fix bugs, add new content, or remove content that has become problematic (e.g. due to third-party rights). After an update, older save files may require migration — we will inform you in the update notes.
The Studio does not commit to indefinite support of the Game. The support window will be communicated through Steam and official channels.
6. Intellectual Property
The Game, its code, graphics, music, dialogue, characters, world, story, the “Voivodes” mark, and logo are the exclusive intellectual property of CyfroweNiebo.pl. All copyrights, related rights, and trademark rights are reserved.
Characters, places, organizations, and events depicted in the Game and in marketing materials are fictional. Any resemblance to existing or historical persons, places, and events is inspirational and does not claim strict factual correspondence.
The Steam name and marks are the property of Valve Corporation. Names of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) are the property of their respective owners.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Game is provided “as is.” The Studio takes care that the Game runs stably and is free of errors, but does not guarantee complete bug-freedom or operation on every hardware configuration.
The Studio is not liable for:
- damage caused by improper use of the Game (e.g. save loss caused by manual file manipulation),
- the operation of the Steam Platform (e.g. service unavailability, activation issues),
- internet connectivity problems on the User's side.
The Studio's liability for the Game is limited to the amount paid by the User for the Game — to the extent permitted by law. The above limitation does not exclude the Studio's liability for willful misconduct and gross negligence, nor liability towards Consumers to the extent that mandatory provisions afford them broader protection.
8. Complaints
8.1. Technical complaints concerning the Game
Complaints regarding purchase, activation, availability, and refund of the Game are handled by Steam — under the Steam Refund Policy, refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if playtime has not exceeded 2 hours.
Steam Support: help.steampowered.com.
8.2. Complaints addressed directly to the Studio
Complaints regarding:
- Game content and mechanics (e.g. story-related bug reports, combat system issues),
- processing of personal data,
- operation of the Site and newsletter,
may be sent to contact@voivodes.com (for personal data matters: privacy@cyfroweniebo.pl). The Studio handles complaints within 30 days of receipt, by email to the address indicated in the request.
9. Consumers — Special Rights
A User who is a Consumer has the right to:
- withdraw from the Game purchase agreement in accordance with the Steam refund policy and the Polish Consumer Rights Act — subject to the reservation that digital content delivered in full with the Consumer's consent before the withdrawal deadline may be excluded from the right of withdrawal (Art. 38(13) of the Consumer Rights Act),
- use out-of-court dispute resolution methods — including UOKiK (Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection) and the European Commission ODR platform,
- pursue claims before the court competent for the Consumer's place of residence.
10. Personal Data
The rules for processing User's personal data are described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to the Terms
The Studio may amend the Terms — particularly in connection with changes to the Site's or Game's functionality, legal requirements, or changes in Platform terms.
Material changes to the Terms are announced on the Site and (for newsletter subscribers) by email at least 14 days before taking effect. Use of the Site or Game after the amended version takes effect constitutes acceptance of it. If you do not accept the changes, you may stop using the Site and uninstall the Game.
12. Final Provisions
- The Terms are governed by Polish law.
- For matters not regulated, the following apply in particular: the GDPR, the Polish Act on the Protection of Personal Data, the Polish Copyright Act, the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means, the Polish Consumer Rights Act, and the Civil Code.
- Disputes arising from the Terms are resolved by the court competent for the Studio's registered office — except for disputes with Consumers, who benefit from the protection granted to them by mandatory provisions.
- If any provision of the Terms turns out to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
